Hi, I’m Caidy Nelson (she/her) — a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in Utah and Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Montana, and the founder of Restoring Balance Therapy Services.
I provide trauma-focused, EMDR-informed virtual therapy for adults across Utah and Montana, offering an LGBTQIA+ affirming space where clients can heal, grow, and reconnect with who they are beneath the weight of what they’ve been carrying.
It’s time to invest in yourself.
I work with people navigating some of life’s hardest questions:
“Who am I now that everything feels different?”
“Will I ever feel safe in my own body again?”
“Can therapy really help someone like me?”
If those questions feel familiar, you’re not alone—and you’re in the right place.
I want you to truly hear this:
Getting help doesn’t mean you’re broken—it means you’re ready to heal.
At the core of my approach to therapy is a belief that we are capable and just need to be reminded.
As a therapist serving adults across Utah and Montana, I create a steady, supportive space where you can show up as you are — curious, uncertain, or overwhelmed. I believe therapy should feel affirming, honest, and emotionally safe. My approach is warm and collaborative, grounded in evidence-based work including EMDR, CBT, and trauma-informed care.
I specialize in:
• Complex trauma and emotional overwhelm
• Depression and life transitions
• LGBTQIA+ identity exploration and support
• Faith transitions and spiritual deconstruction
This isn’t surface-level therapy. Together, we work at the root — gently and at your pace — using practical tools that support real, sustainable change.
My practice is inclusive, grounded, and shaped by both clinical training and lived experience. I also support adults navigating depression, life transitions, identity questions, and men’s mental health concerns. Therapy can be a place to slow down, breathe, and gain clarity — and I would be honored to walk alongside you in that process.
How I work
Central to my therapeutic approach is honoring your story while helping you shape what comes next.
My approach to therapy is rooted in empathy, honesty, and deep respect for your lived experience. I offer a calm, steady space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, beliefs, and questions — whether you’re healing from trauma, navigating a faith transition, or working through identity shifts. There’s no pressure to have everything figured out, and no judgment about where you’ve been or how you’re feeling now.
What Clients Often Say:
“You made me feel like my experience wasn’t too much.”
“I finally found a therapist who doesn’t judge”
“This is the safest I’ve ever felt in therapy.”
Therapy with me is…
01 refreshing
A space where you can breathe, be honest, and reconnect with yourself without pressure or pretense.
02 honest
We’ll have real, sometimes tough conversations that help you face challenges and make meaningful progress.
03 Authentic
It can be unexpectedly light at times—full of real moments, humor, and connection alongside the hard work of healing.
04 Individualized
Each session tailored to your unique experiences, needs, and goals—no templates, just what truly supports you.
More Than a Therapist
I believe in healing without shame, in living with greater choice and freedom, and in creating spaces where people can breathe, grieve, grow, and feel a sense of belonging.
If you’re ready to begin therapy — or simply curious about what it might be like — I’d be glad to connect. I offer a free, low-pressure consultation so we can see if working together feels like the right fit.
