Caidy Atwood, owner and therapist at Restoring Balance Therapy Services in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Meet Caidy, CMHC & Owner

It’s time to invest in yourself.

I’m a Salt Lake City, Utah-based therapist specializing in faith crisis, depression, trauma and I am LGBTQIA+ affirming.

I want you to truly hear this:

Getting help doesn’t mean you’re broken—it means you’re ready to heal.

At the core of my approach to therapy is a belief that we are capable and just need to be reminded.

As a therapist based in Salt Lake City, Utah, I create a supportive space where you can show up as you are—curious, uncertain, or even a little overwhelmed. I specialize in therapy for adults navigating trauma, religious deconstruction or faith transitions, and identity exploration. Whether you're questioning long-held beliefs, recovering from painful experiences, or trying to reconnect with who you really are, I’m here to walk alongside you with compassion and curiosity.

My counseling practice is affirming, inclusive, and rooted in real-life experience. I also work with clients facing anxiety, depression, LGBTQIA+ identity questions, and men’s mental health concerns. Therapy is a place to slow down, breathe, and find clarity—and I’d be honored to be part of your healing process here in Salt Lake County and beyond.

How I work

Central to my therapeutic approach is honoring your story while helping you shape what comes next.

My approach to therapy is rooted in empathy, honesty, and deep respect for your lived experience. I offer a calm, supportive space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, beliefs, and questions—especially if you're working through religious trauma, faith transitions, or identity shifts. There's no pressure to have the answers, and no judgment for where you've been or what you're feeling now.

Together, we’ll unpack the impact of harmful belief systems, process emotional wounds, and begin to rebuild a more grounded sense of self—one that reflects your values, not just what you were taught to believe. I integrate evidence-based practices like EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), and solution-focused therapy to support healing at your pace. Therapy with me is collaborative and down-to-earth; we work together to move you toward clarity, confidence, and a life that feels more aligned and free.

Therapy with me is…
